O'Shea 2 Day 2009 Information
Central Coast Orienteers invite you to two days
of orienteering variety where you can warm up for the coming season.This year's event will be held on the 7th and 8th of March.

The weather was fine and the orienteering highlighted some need to up training for several competitors.With attendances up 50% on last year the Central Coast club would like to thank all who attended.
Newcastle orienteers made up the majority of the competitors and it was good to see Don all the way from Nowra.
It was great to see Frank Anderson at the event partnered by his daughter Jenny. Frank organized the original Toukley 2 Day.

O'Shea 2 Days 2009

Start the orienteering season off with this great event.
7th / 8th March 2009
O'Shea 2 Days
This event is a 2-person teams event consisting of a relay event, night event and a pairs score event. Both team members run on Saturday afternoon and Sunday but only one need run on Saturday night.
Prizes of the famous pine tree cakes have been replaced with fruit bags (just kidding), cakes will be presented to winners of the various categories. (Further information is on the entry form)

- Saturday afternoon at Yambo, Morisett
- Saturday night at Norah Head
- Sunday morning at Bateau Bay

NavSport Series: Event 6, Norah Head Results

The weather turned out to be cooler than predicted and was great for our final event in this series.
Many competitors took advantage of the close proximity to the sea and took a refreshing dip.
The series continues to attract more people each year which is encouraging for the organisers.
Central Coast Orienteers thank all who have attended these events and hope to see you later this year for the 2009/ 2010 season.
Todays scores are as follows;
1st- Josh Blatchford 540 points
2nd- Alex Massey 520 points
3rd- Russell Blatchford 470 points
4th- Karen Blatchford 460 points

NavSport Series: Event 6, Norah Head

Norah Head
This new map at Norah Head is the location of the sixth and final event in our series.
A challenging map which has an intricate track network through the
local sand dunes along with the normal mix of street and park
orienteering.
This event is a short distance from the F3, Sparks Road turn off, so it is very close to both Sydney and Newcastle.
This is a 45 min score event and you can start between 9am and 11am.
From Central Coast Hwy turn east into Bungary Road and the start is in Jenny Dixon Reserve.

NavSport Series: Event 5, Avoca Results

The weather was lovely and the competition was hot.
We were lucky that the weather wasnt a continuation of the Saturday (40 degrees).
Competitors came from Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast with
32 entries consisting of individuals as well as several family groups
(teams).
It is great to see so many new faces as well as the old (familiar) faces.
Alex Massey collected the most points (460)
Babara Hill and Andrew Appleby collected (430)
Nick Dent and Russell Blatchford collected (410)
Karen Blatchford was just behind with (400)
Our next event will be held at Norah Head on the 8th February with start location to be on the CCN website soon.
This event will be easily accessable from the F3 so again close to Sydney and Newcastle.
We hope to see you at our last Sunday event in this series.

NavSport Series: Event 5: Avoca Beach

Start is in Heazlett Park which is on your left as you approach Avoca, just past the bridge.
This is a great location which has close access to the beach and many cafes for a coffee after.
This is the 4th event in the series which is dominated be the Blatchford family from Newcastle.
You can start between 9am and 11am
This event is great for people of all physical abilities, so you can walk or run the course.
We will provide instruction to any newcomers and the course has a 45 minute time limit.

NavSport Series: Event 4 Terrigal Results

Again we see many new faces attending our Summer Series with 21 entries.
Many thanks to David Bowerman for organizing this event.
The highest score went to Karen and Russell Blatchford with 390
John Bulman and Andrew Appleby where second with 370 Click on rear more for full results and accumulated totals.
Next event will be held at Avoca Beach on the 25th January

Happy New Year! We resume our NavSport Series with an event around exciting Terrigal Beach. Same format as previous events this series.
Location of the START is on park opposite Scout hall on Terrigal Drive
Look for the Orienteering sign. Starts are between 9am and 11am. Stunning views and a swim after the run are some of the highlights for this Event. Regards Colin Price

NavSport Series: Event 3 Shelley Beach Results

Fine weather welcomed 27 entries to the Central Coast Navsport Series held at Bateau Bay this Sunday 14th December.
It is great to see new faces with people coming from as far away as Sydney and Newcastle.
Another great run by Josh Blatchford with Alex Massey not far behind.
With the finish only metres from the beach many runners took the opportunity to cool off in the surf.
Our next event will be held at Terrigal on the 11th January 2009.

Our Christmas gathering and you are welcome to join us for a picnic after the event, (BYO) Location of the START is on Reserve Drive just south of Parkside Drive. Look for the Orienteering sign. Starts are between 9am and 11am. A flatter course than the last two areas being suitable for those wanting to walk and the competetive runners. Regards Colin Price
